# Quadrilateral/Hex elements

Hello everyone,

I am a new user of FreeFem++. Going through the documentation, I observe that at the moment only Triangular/Tetrahedral elements are supported. However, I would like to work with Quadrilateral/Hex elements. Is this something that can be implemented by myself? If yes, are there any guidelines or existing documentation on how to include a new element type? If no, is this something you are already planning on developing in the future? Would be glad to hear from you!

It’s very unlikely this will be available in FreeFEM in the near future.
