# How to Handle Three-Dimensional Boundary Conditions

Hello guys, I am encountering some issues while trying to use the first-kind Nedelec elements. I am not sure how to apply the boundary conditions v×n=0 and ∇×u=0. I am unsure if setting the boundary degrees of freedom Integral v⋅t=0 along the boundary will ensure the boundary conditions (v×n=0 and ∇×u=0), or if there are other ways to handle it, when conducting numerical experiments 🥹
