# Changing lables

Hello,

I have physical surfaces and volumes from my gmsh mesh imported in freefem. how can I change these labels and check them to see if those are all imported?

There is a command to change the label: [change](https://doc.freefem.org/documentation/mesh-generation.html#the-command-change)

An easy way to verify labels: Save your mesh (or a function) with [savevtk](https://doc.freefem.org/documentation/visualization.html#link-with-paraview), open with Paraview and use the threshold filter on the dataset “Label”
